- Engagement: Making AI exciting and relevant to diverse student populations.
- Identity Development: Helping students develop personal identities as STEM creators, preparing them for future AI-powered careers.
- Teacher Support: Identifying the support needs of Georgia middle school Computer Science (CS) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers to effectively teach AI.
- Curriculum Development: Creating and piloting a 9-week AI elective course titled "Living and Working with Artificial Intelligence" tailored for middle school students.
- Professional Development: Developing both in-person and scalable online professional development courses for teachers to deliver the AI elective effectively.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap in AI education and ensure that all students have access to quality learning experiences in this critical field.
